Last week we had a pizza day! We made our own individual pizzas, getting our dough ready, spreading sauce, and sprinkling cheese. It was a huge hit and the kids asked if we can do it every day! So we will definitely try to repeat this a few more times this summer.

In other BIG news- our moth chrysalis hatched! After 3 weeks of waiting (and the teachers kind of losing hope that it would actually hatch) it finally came out on Friday! And it was HUGE! The general consensus was that is was extremely yucky and creepy looking! We let it go outside since we did not want to keep it over the weekend in our classroom.

Summer at ACCD is a little different than the school year. We still provide the same quality instruction and activities, but our focus is a little more on experiential learning and hand on activities. We still work on our letters and numbers, but are saving our more concentrated lessons for during the school year. During our summer session we try to create memorable activities, spend lots of time outdoors, and follow our kids' interests in what we focus on. Whereas during the school year, we have focused themes, during the summer our themes may change more frequently, depending on the children .

During the summer we will be sending our newsletter less frequently. But as always if you have any questions about what we are up to, or if you ever want to stop by and visit we are always happy to hear from and see you!!

Have a beautiful week!
